ASPEN

The Aspen interface is a powerful new evolution of our earlier interface units, supporting all of our existing response devices and enabling lots of new ones with double the available optical channels. The analog and digital frontend circuitry has been redesigned combining 32 years of fORP experience with modern chips and development tools. These features are in place now:

• USB-C power
• USB-C data
• USB HID outputs, highly configurable by users
• Default USB outputs match familiar 932-era outputs
• Configurations can be saved by users
• Dual optical ports: use two of any of our response devices at the same time
• Internal time stamping with 5µs timing resolution
• 17 TTL outputs for 2x8 buttons and a trigger

And these features are coming soon:

• Serial over USB output (primarily for time-stamped response collection)
• Response data logged to thumbdrive
• Self-diagnostics for interface health
• Diagnostics for response devices
